Pink Wedding Aesthetic in Old Brick Building

When the owners of an old abandoned Train Depot approached me with the idea to turn it into a wedding venue, I was beyond excited. I have always longed for a more modern/urban venue location available here in Montana, primarily one with exposed brick. Don't get me wrong, I love a beautiful meadow wedding with mountains in the background or a chic barn wedding, but I've gotten to a point where I feel like I've seen a lot of the same things over and over. Pair this excitement with the freedom to put together a design completely up to me and better believe this became my most favorite styled shoot to date.

Anyone who knows me knows my world is pink, so naturally, I was taking the opportunity to design a wedding theme surrounding the color pink. I based the majority of the design on this specific linen napkin I was planning to rent and then chose table settings, florals, place settings, and candles to compliment them. On the day of the photoshoot, I received notice that the linens had been misplaced and would not be making it to me on time. Activate: Panic Mode. What was I supposed to do when my entire design was based on those linens? Now, luckily, in my line of work, being able to pivot and work well under pressure is a crucial job requirement and one I have had much practice with. I keep a small collection of linens, rental items, and miscellaneous things I have collected and have left over from weddings over the years, in a storage unit and was able to whip up a similar design with items I had, just making a few subtle changes. It might not have been exactly what I was going for, but the overall color palette and theme were still exactly what I wanted.

Now, this venue still needs quite a bit of work, but the owners are working hard to bring a unique and exciting new venue option for Missoula weddings, so keep your eye out for Primrose Station - coming soon!
